Speak to Council on the Greenest City Action Plan

After more than a year of consultation the Greenest City Action Plan has been finalized and it is heading to City Council!

The Greenest City Action Plan will be presented to Council on Tuesday, July 12th.  Speakers will not be heard at this point.

On Thursday, July 14th people wishing to speak to Council on the Greenest City Action Plan will be heard at the Planning & Environment Committee Meeting, starting at 2pm.

If you would like to speak to this plan, contact Tina Hildebrandt and ask to be put on the speakers list (604-873-7268 tina.hildebrandt@vancouver.ca).

This will be a big day for Greenest City since the water metering, food scraps composting and a green condo program – all actions identified in the Greenest City Action plan – will also be presented to Council this day.

This event is open to the public.  If you would like to come and watch, come down to Council Chambers at City Hall.  No need to RSVP if you would just like to watch.

If you can’t make it in person you can watch the live video stream from the City’s website or watch the recorded video after the fact (A day or two after the meeting, there will be a “watch this video” link beside the "Regular Council" July 12 meeting).  And for those of you on Twitter, we’ll be live tweeting the events via @greenestcity using the hashtag #greenestcity

The complete Greenest City Action Plan can be found in the Council Report available on the City's website. (A summary version of this plan, illustrated with your images, will be released later).
